U is for Under my Umbrella

Who is that hiding Under my Umbrella?

Our favorite umbrella game . . .

Child hides under an umbrella.
Ms Tamra Squirts them with water from a spray bottle
(sometimes she sneaks some under the umbrella too!)
while the class sings . . .

"Rain is falling all around,
On the housetops, on the ground.
Rain is falling on my nose,
On my head and hands and toes!"

L is for Listening Ears . . .

Reading this book . . .

was a great lead-in to a discussion to this months social skill of being a good listener.
Once we put on our own bunny ears . . .

we used our super good listening ears to go on an adventure all around the school.

Watch out! Don't let Mr McGregor hear you!

Seriously the cutest group of bunnies EVER . . .

Our absolute favorite listening activity of the day?
Listening to this song over and over!
We just couldn't get enough of it!! :)

Crazy Colors

This book is a fantastic way to start a discussion of color.
Each child picked a color and we'd read about an animal featured in that color.
 Who knew frogs were blue?
Or there's a bird with blue feet?

The number one highlight of the day was our magical exploration of colors using Ms Tamra's magic powder and clear liquid . . .
(vinegar & water; food coloring covered with baking soda . . . shhhh! don't tell!)

As you stir and say the magic words exciting things happen . . .

and then a color magically appears!

Here's a peek at a couple of centers . . .

Can't wait to see what Wednesday has in store!
